Wow... what a wakeup call for me, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Coming hard on the heels of my reading of Wrestling With the Goddess by Azeem Kayum, it was a double whammy of a message of the power of the human spirit and just how far believing in yourself can take you.

Kevin, thanks much for stopping by! Pursue excellence – a great addition! It does make sense – in that excellence is something we choose, and it can become part of our being – success is what is typically what we’re aiming for. In that way, yes, it does. And in pursuing excellence, we are being all that we were meant to be – and that’s pretty awesome!

@Diana – His story is so inspiring, because of the obstacles he has overcome, and his attitude through it all! He is an amazing individual!

@Stephen – I’ll see if I can find a transcript of what was being said – it is really powerful, his message. If I find something, I’ll send it over. Even just in pictures, seeing what he has overcome – it really something what he has accomplished, and a wonderful example of facing adversity and remaining positive in all that life throws at you. I see you as that example, too, Stephen. You are a light for many, including me!

@Stacey/Create A Balance – Isn’t he amazing, Stacey! He gives me so much hope for what is possible, for overcoming the daily “issues” that come up. Game on!!

@Dali – “What a true inspiration!” – you’ve said it so well, Dali! Nick is incredibly well adjusted considering all of the obstacles life has thrown at him. It’s a pleasure to share this amazing story!

@AverageGal – We all are so blessed, but too often don’t realize it. Until we see something like this – someone who seemingly has much less in life than us to be thankful for – and yet he is thriving, he is making a difference every day, he is loving the life he has! An amazing story of hope!

This is the 2nd video I've seen with Nick in it. I had posted one of his earlier videos on my blog - it showed him going about doing his daily activities that most of us take for granted. I wish I knew what he was saying because he obviously had a powerful impact on the kids, making them laugh and cry. Do you know of a transcript somewhere? I am an inspirational speaker too so I'm very interested in knowing exactly what he's saying to provoke such a strong emotional response. Anyone? @Jannie – That’s an excellent point Jannie, what seems “negative” oftentimes ends up being a positive – especially if we have the right attitude! Bizarre knitting accident??? And, I know what you fling (and it’s not knitting needles…)…what’s the story here??

@Kelly – Video is fixed now (with a slightly different one, but basically the same) – sorry about that. If you get back, check it out now…Nick is a true example of coming out a winner in life – an amazing individual!

@Ricardo – No kidding Ricardo – this guy’s got an unbelievable attitude – makes anything we “complain” about seem pretty small. Nick really does embrace the good in his life, and because of that he just continues to spread good everywhere he goes. I think you’re already there Ricardo, embracing the good – you sure come across that way. Thanks, as always, for stopping by!

@Scott – I think, in this case, no – not at all – tears are perfectly ok. It’s hard not to… And, Scott, thanks for sharing that excellent point. Sometimes when we fall down, we get back up and just keep doing the same thing – or end up falling down as we go down a path that’s not “right” for us. It IS important that we take the time to “shake the dust off” as you say – and really see if we’re going in the direction we desire. Thanks much for that viewpoint – it really adds to this story!
