Blogging For A Cause

Breast cancer has affected countless millions of people — from the women and men who have had this disease, to their family and friends who love them.

Estimates show that breast cancer is newly diagnosed in approximately 200,000 women each year.  And while the risks are much lower, men are not immune from this disease either.  That’s about 550 new cases of breast cancer EVERY DAY.

Much is being done to develop cures and bring awareness this deadly disease.

The Susan G. Komen foundation is the leading breast cancer movement in the world, working together with people from all reaches of the world, in search of a cure.

Today, you have the opportunity to help support the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization.

Together with my friend, Joanna Sutter, we have teamed up to create an e-book.

Blog-4-Cause

This is no ordinary e-book.  This is the collective effort of over 150 writers from throughout the world.  Writers uniting together in a race for the cure.

blog4cause

Every one of these writers has contributed a favorite article to this e-book, creating a wonderful collection of stories.  Stories of inspiration, personal growth, fitness, food, humor, and more.

Today, Joanna and I are asking for your help.

Please visit the Susan G. Komen Blog-4-Cause website to learn how you can support the mission to end breast cancer.  In addition, you’ll find information on how to recieve this Blog-4-Cause E-book, our gift to you.  A bonus e-book, from author and life coach Tim Brownson, is included as well.

There is much hope in a future filled with possibility.  Together, we all can make a difference!

With deep gratitude,
Lance and Joanna

Lance writes stories from his heart, aiming to inspire and motivate, as you align more fully with YOUR true peak. When he’s not here, you can find him hanging out with his family, riding a bike, or just generally acting goofy.   Sign up for the Thoughts from the Treehouse newsletter and get additional inspiration in your email inbox!

  5. Hi Lance,

Congratulations on the completion of the e-book! That is wonderful that you got 150 writers and I am honored to be one of them. Thank you so much for letting me take part and thank you so much for spreading more awareness about cancer. It is a horrible disease. My mother passed away from a different kind of cancer but cancer is cancer and it sucks. The sooner we get rid of it, the better.

Thanks again for including information on how to deal with cancer in a preventative and holistic way!

  7. Hilary says:

Hi Lance and Joanna .. thank you so much for putting the ebook together and how fabulous to have so much support — but we’re a good bunch! I’m looking forward to having a good look and seeing all 150 contributions, and also to doing what I can to benefit others through promotion of the ebook .. spreading that word on a regular basis.

I know the devastation it can create — tomorrow is the funeral of my uncle who had prostate cancer, triggered into bone cancer — very quick blessedly — so I shall pray for all peoples with cancer, and those who are sick and ill.

It is extraordinary what you have both done, and everyone who has contributed including Tim Brownson’s with his gift (an interesting read ahead), all cancer charities are worth while and I’m sure the extra we are able to add to the pot will bring research forward and be of help to the generations to come.

    P. S. I did add the book cover and link from my blog in further support. I will also be sending out the info and invitation to donate via my newsletter soon. :-) Love to all. Health and healing to all!

I have been a longtime supporter of the Susan G. Komen for The Cure, but it was only in the last couple of weeks that the importance of what they do really came home for me. I went in for a screening mammogram and was called back for a diagnostic one. While I now this isn’t uncommon, it scared me…no, it terrified me.

I am fine, but I remember the other women waiting with me for their diagnostic exams and I wonder how things turned out for them. One really good thing I discovered in doing research before I went back in is how far we’ve come regarding the ability to diagnose and treat this cancer. It’s still not enough, but thanks to places like Susan G. Komen for The Cure and bloggers like you two, we are able to do so much more.
