Centennial Edition: Sunday Thought For The Day

Some days my vision blurred.
Fall down.
Am lost.
Out in this great big world.

And still.
A guiding hand to offer help..
A voice from distance far.
A human spirit so close to me.

Footprints we do impart.
A journey down this path.
A jungle, this life can seem.
Much clearer, when you're with me.

Like a sunrise in the morning,
Lighting up a brand new day.

Your light it brightly shines,

Connecting you, your soul, to me, to mine.

And there is peace.
And there is love.
And there is unity.

As I pause and reflect back over the past one hundred weeks, what I am most inspired by are the deep and caring conversations that have developed around a single thought each week.  Each one of you has been a gift.  You, who have read these words and let them touch your soul.  You, who have shared deep and meaningful comments.  You, who have shared very personal stories, both publicly and privately.  Every one of you, being here, is a gift.  A gift to me, and a gift to each other.  And the parting thought that I keep coming back to is that we are here, together, on this earth.   All of you make this life journey more meaningful for me, and for each other.  With deep gratitude, I thank you for the gifts you have so beautifully been.

Together…we are one.

Peace, love and unity.

100 Sundays is an amazing feat! Congratulations, Lance, on this milestone!

Thank you for the ways that you touch our lives every week. I know that I look forward to all your posts, but the one I most look forward to is the Sunday Thought for the Day.

You are a treasure in this world and are encouraging many, many, many people every day. Imagine what the world would be like if everyone followed this example. One person might not be able to light up the world, but each> person lighting up their corner of it … and passing the light along would have the world lit up in a moment ( … more or less 🙂 ).

So many blessings to you today, Lance.

How beautiful. Absolutely. & it’s one of my favorite songs. “For everything you’ve done, you know I’m bound… to thank you for it:)”
*You* are Light, pure and true. You share your heart in this space, and that touches each reader in some way. The energy you share certainly makes a difference; on great days it magnifies my own, on hard days it reminds me of all that I believe in and hold dear. Thank you for the beautiful reflection I see when I look into the mirror your space here provides.
Much peace….

Lance, this would make such a great opening or closing for a yoga class. We always try to add on a positive note that stays with us, and my teachers should take note (Well, someday I hope to take and this is definitely noted). Thank you! Happy Sunday and hope it’s finally warmed up in your corner of the world….

Wow, 100 Sundays? That is so awesome! Thank you so much for sharing these Sunday Thoughts with us. Even though I haven’t been around long enough to see 100, I have definitely seen quite a few of them and have been following you for many months. I have been truly touched and have learned a lot and grown a lot from what you had to post for us. I just thought you should know.

What a beautiful video today. I love that song. It was so inspiring to watch them all sing it. I think this week I need to remember that even though I may feel lost, there are people that are all around me offering me help and I need to allow them to help me. So often I try to walk the path of life alone for whatever reason or another but it’s always better when you have someone with you to make you stronger.

Whoo hoo! One hundred weeks — what an accomplishment to post such loving and wonderful photos and words Sunday each week.

To me, this says it all:
“Every one of you, being here, is a gift. A gift to me, and a gift to each other. “
When I come here on Sundays, I feel I’m with a lovely tribe of people and the warm fuzzies just keep on rolling.
Thanks, Lance, and congrats again.

Hi Lance,

Congratulations on the 100 weeks! WOO HOO! That is awesome.

And amen for all of us being united. How I wish more people would recognize the fact that we are all brothers and sisters who are in search of the same things. However, I have faith, that in due time, more and more people will be rooted in love than in fear.

And here’s to another 100 weeks!

Happy 100 Sundays!

Your beautiful words remind me of what Marianne Williamson says, “…We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

YOU, my friend, are truly a shining blessing.

Lance, it’s no secret that you’ve touched my life deeply with your beautiful words since I started reading your blog a year ago. Your kindness is reflected in everything you do; your compassionate heart sings God’s love to strangers and friends, alike. You — being who you are on this earth — forever change the landscape in a spectacular, breathtaking, and inspirational way.
You truly are kind and generous, and I want to thank YOU, as well.
Having said that, I will graciously accept your gratitude, which feels like the freshest spring air.
Much love, my dear friend!

Lance, what you’ve done with your blog proves that if we look for the inspirational in life we will find it. You are so inspired and inspiring. This video really touched my heart because I was considered legally blind for twenty years. Four surgeries turned my vision from -1100 to -350. I love peeping through the layers of the jungle and finding your big grin looking back at me here. Much love and gratitude to you.

Lance April 19, 2010 at 8:03 pm

I am touched by your sweet and kind words. As I read through these all again tonight, I am reminded of what truly matters in life. And that is the beautiful connection with others.. I very much feel a deep sense of peace, love, and unity. That is each of you, writing from deep within. You each hold a very special place in my heart. I am humbled and honored by everything you have each said, and know that as I read your words (now and in the future), they sustain me, they lift me up, and they guide me in living my life.

Angelia Sims April 19, 2010 at 10:30 pm

Meeting your blog has encouraged my life greatly! Meeting your beautiful, dear, astoundingly awesome family in person? A blessed gift I will cherish forever. Thank you for the hospitality. I will hold it close in my heart. You will always be my inspirer to swing from vine to vine of the life jungle with bellowing war whoops of joy.

Thank YOU for being you and being my friend. 🙂
