ANNOUNCEMENT: Today I am officially joining Katie West and Ina Lukas in partnership with creating the next phase of The Levity Project. I will continue to write here in this space, and can now also be found at The Levity Project, and more directly involved in the events and direction of where that program is going.
The Levity Project is a social movement to foster buoyancy, laughter, play, and freedom as the new paradigm in social design. We engage in public acts of levity in which people gather in a flash setting to en-lighten the energy of a public place and those within it. These events are designed to foster a sense of lightness and connection to all who are present.
Katie and Ina are both incredibly talented women, and it is an honor to work beside them in bringing more laughter, play, and celebration into our world!

Hey Lance: I know that in the last few months, I am laughing more than I have in years. I had gotten so serious about life, and all of its realities. NOW, I dream as big as I can, and laugh until I cry! It totally rocks my world, and has engaged my family in a more intimate way.

I know the point of this point was to stress that laughter is enriching your life, but I want to advise against trying to use laughter as a “therapy”: if you solve your problems, laughter and happiness will naturally result, not the other way around. If you’re desperately poor and need to radically change your life, creating a practical and actionable plan is generally the best way to go about it.
The above may be entirely unrelated to your point, I’m not sure. I just felt I should mention something about that approach to personal development, since it appears to be common.

@Nate — Hi Nate. And I don’t disagree with what you are saying — making plans, and being serious about moving forward with them is a very good thing. I see laughter as just a way to lighten our days, and bring some moments of joy and peace into them — especially when we might feel over-stressed and challenged. That said, laughter itself isn’t going to necessarily get us to some end result. It can make the getting there much more enjoyable and peaceful…and I’ll take that any day. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Haha that whole post was hilarious and awesome. That social idea definitely sounds like something I’d be interesting in participating. It’s like when Michael Jackson died and there was people around the world meeting up in town centres and doing huge co-ordinated crotch grabbing.
