Happy Sunday Lance,

I like the part about “in ten years, will we even remember what we were fretting about”. Isn’t that the truth? All the more reason to 🙂

I also like the part about 10 years and 100 years. Thing is, what I’m pushing for now IS critical for determining what will be happening in MY life and in the lives of my children with special needs in 10 years. And, if I’m successful (along with thousands of other moms of children with special needs), in 100 years, moms like me won’t need to worry about whether their kids will be excluded from all the reindeer games. 100 years ago, my children would have been locked up in institutions and left to rot. Thanks to the moms of yesteryear who busied themselves with this purpose. More importantly, this IS the stuff that blows my skirt up and makes my heart flutter (in good and bad ways, sometimes). So I must be focusing on the right stuff. Would I call it “fun”? Not necessarily… but boy it’s exciting to be on the cutting edge of something you’re passionate about. Maybe “fun” isn’t the right word. Thanks for the reminder that THIS advocacy job I’m doing is more important than that other job (that pays more and adds so much more frustration to my life).

What you’re doing…that’s a gift to all the kids who benefit from your time and energy. And…it’s a gift that is today…and for future generations.

Keep being a shining light of goodness into the lives of those who can’t always fully stand up for themselves…

Lance this was an AWESOME find! Oh my goodness, how much fun was that, and how true and powerful each of the statements and quotes were!

So in the end, I stand for LOVE and I stand for FUN! without those two, to me there is not life 🙂

Oh gosh! So many of these really hit home today. I spent some “selfish” time to myself this morning after two days of non-stop chores. This afternoon, I am breaking the rules and baking with my husband’s ex-wife, our daughters, and her ex-sister-in-law and nieces (mine now). Maybe even the ex-mother-in-law of hers (and now mine), at whose house? Mine. Her ex-husband’s new wife. 🙂 Now THAT is taking life by the tail and what FUN. We are going to make some treats and start a tradition with the family. Our new blended family.

That is truly YOU bringing out the crayons…and in that…creating something very special from what could easily be quite the opposite. So, so awesome!!

I echo the thoughts of Evita. I stand for Love and Fun.

=). Thank you my friend.

When we make fun a part of our lives…in whatever way is meaningful and real for us…it just makes this life we are living so much more.

And perhaps it’s not about having fun in every moment of our lives, but in just incorporating that which rings of FUN for each of us, incorporating the more fully into our lives.

Amazing and fun people…thank YOU…all of you – for taking time from your busy schedules to visit this place, and in some way let these words (and videos) soak more deeply into your soul.

Jody - Fit at 53 December 6, 2010 at 1:08 pm

Hey, are the colors new around here on the comment form lines?? Or are my eyes playing tricks again, probably the latter.

Fun is a thing I read of once in a Dr Seuss book. Been thinking for a long time I shall try some too.

Going now to get rid of that clutter, stop following tree-climbing rules and try digging me a new hole. To plant a tree in, of course.

And REALLY — no dishwasher chez Jungle? 🙂

You…you are super observant!! Yes, the color on the comment form changed just slightly. It was accidental, and then I liked it (so it’s sticking around!).

Fun…fun is a woman I know who climbs in the trees….

And really…no dishwasher. It’s all hard labor around these parts. Our kids protest (often!), but then they keep coming back for dinner the next day. And…it’s good fun we can have with that sprayer (although the cat isn’t so fond of those games, no he’s not).
