Sunday Thought For The Day

"Do you have doubts about life? Are you unsure if it is really worth the trouble? Look at the sky: that is for you. Look at each person's face as you pass them on the street: those faces are for you. And the street itself, and the ground under the street, and the ball of fire underneath the ground: all these things are for you. They are as much for you as they are for other people. Remember this when you wake up in the morning and think you have nothing. Stand up and face the east. Now praise the sky and praise the light within each person under the sky. It's okay to be unsure. But praise, praise, praise." ~ Miranda July

Hey Lance,

This is such a beautiful thought. Thank you, this brings me much comfort. Sometimes I think things similiar to this as I watch the sunset…”Oh, that color is my favorite! God must have put that there just for me!” lol.

To me, everything that exists is a reflection of divine love. We are all equally worthy of divine love, so everything really is for each of us.

Thank you!

Jay…that sky IS for you…

…and for me…

…and for Zeenat…

And everyone.

I’m a fan of the Sun, the sky, and Mother Nature in general. But I have to say, nothing takes the place of people. I’m glad the world is filled with people.

Dearest and sweetest lance,
This is a refreshing and calming sunday thought! I love how simply its stated here..that indeed all creations are for us. Isn’t nature the best teacher and spiritual guide….
On my most stressful day, just one deep breath of pure clean air, and the sight of twinkling stars is all I need to be stress-free and rejuvenated…mind, body, heart and soul.
Its amazing that all the best things in life are so beautifully free and readily available IF we choose to open up to Divine Magic 🙂
So much love,

Much love to you, dear friend, as you continue on this journey of your life, and all that it is…

Thanks for wonderful reminder to be thankful and grateful for life itself. We are all here for a reason and keeping in this state of mind offers a chance to recognize our God given opportunities. Have a great week!

Megan "JoyGirl!" Bord January 2, 2011 at 7:24 am

Lance, this is absolutely gorgeous, and if I didn’t know better, I’d think that first line was written by our very dear friend, Joy. (smile)

It’s easy to get caught up in feeling blue. I certainly have my share of times when I do. But like this quote points out, life holds great meaning for us, and WANTS us. If we can open ourselves up to that, for even a moment, we have a chance to recognize the great beauty and purpose in our lives.

Happy Sunday, my dear friend ~ I value you!

Those moments when we are a bit blue, or lost, or forgotten, or whatever – we still have, always, this universe we live in…and all its beautiful pieces.

Mmmm…they are for you, dear friend.

Just being present in each moment is a gift. Untie those ribbons and open your heart to what is inside.

Enjoy the day!

There are times when doubt runs deep, wide, and with enormous breadth in my life. And when it does, it’s not the sky I face, nor the faces of others, it’s the imperfections of life; a scuff on glass I’m drinking from, a tear in bar-code I am trying to scan at the store, a dog with a limp. It is within these imperfections that I know I’m really real.

Lance January 3, 2011 at 7:46 am

Doubt. And imperfections.

Things we all have. And within those imperfections, we are perfectly imperfect.

…and real…

Love your thoughts on this…

Such a wonderfully important thought you’ve shared today. There may be much we are unsure of in life, but there is much we can be sure of as well. We can be sure of the enduring power of love and of the interconnectedness of literally everything and everybody. I am thankful for all of the beauty in the Universe, including friendship with beautiful people like you.

Lance January 3, 2011 at 7:47 am

Yes, LOVE is always there (even if we don’t see it, feel it, believe it…it is there).

Hanlie January 2, 2011 at 9:25 am

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Angelia Sims Hardy January 2, 2011 at 9:31 am

This is perfect for those times when I get down and wonder where my place is, and what it’s all about, and what difference am I making anyway?

It is so true. Just stop. Praise. And be grateful for each and every thing. I don’t think I have met an ungrateful happy person.

Thank-you Lance and Happy Sunday and Happy New Year!

Hey Lance, Happy Sunday!

Having doubts about the sanctity of life can really put a damper on our happiness. It’s important to remember the more basic elements of consciousness: nature, people, relationships. These things are worth having, and they make life worth living.

Thanks for the thoughts!

re: It’s okay to be unsure

Yup, I struggle with that one. I want guarantees LOL

Note to self: work on accepting each day as it comes praise whatever happens to come my way.

Happy 2011 Lance!

Mmmmm….guarantees. How things might be different if we just “knew”. Yet, that’s also part of the beauty of life, and in how it is miraculous, and ever-changing, and unknown… (and I know, too, how this can be a challenge too)

Happy 2011 to you, too!!

We have so much in the USA even when we thing we don’t. I’m practicing falling down on knees with gratitude daily. Just when I think it doesn’t get any better than this I only need to look at the mountains calling me and know that it does! Have a great first week of the new year.

Very encouraging words… You get really frustrated with today’s life style. You have no time yourself everything you are doing is basically for your family. I think everybody needs these kind of encouraging words to get out of frustration and start afresh.
