    Jimi was a good man. It’s quite a spectacular photo too. I’d love a pic of Jimi there, though.

    Excellent quote and a good thought for Sunday. I was just thinking about Jimi Hendrix yesterday… this is another quote of his I like: “When things get too heavy, just call me helium, the lightest known gas to man.”

  3. CG Walters says:

    Thank you, Lance.
    Now that I have had my morning quote.…I can move into my day.
    —-I have a bit of an addiction of such quotes–short, precise, insightful (stirs the mind to its own truth beyond the initial words)
    blessings to you and your dear ones, Lance,

    I clocked in at 5 seconds for this one, which included looking at the picture. However, that doesn’t include the time I took thinking about the meaning, which is really the important part. As CG Walters says so well, it’s precise and “stirs the mind to its own truth beyond the initial words.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Morning, Lance. What a beautiful quote! Many people tend to think of some form of authority figure more removed from themselves, maybe even government, when presented with this one. When we think in broader terms, though, we find it holds equally true in our personal relationships. When we stop trying to be top dog in any way (having the last word just for the sake of it, not letting go in an argument, insisting on our way…), when we just graciously let go and let our love wash over us, all is smooth and wonderful. I love this quote. What a WONDERFUL way to start the day. Thank you!

  17. Marelisa says:

    Aren’t people’s priorities just completely skewed? Although I think at the end of the day if people were to analyze why they want power it’s probably because they think that will get them love.

  18. Laurie says:

    Nice quote Lance. Many people believe that love is some uncontrollable, squishy feeling they get. But the power of love is that love is a choice and can be shared to empower others.

  19. I love Jimi Hendrix. What a terrific quote.

  24. Lance says:

    @Steven — It’s a great quote by a very fine musician!

    @Monica — That is another great Hendrix quote — I haven’t heard of it before, and I like it! Another good one to remember — thanks for sharing it here!

    @CG — I really like doing these Sunday quotes — they are short, but yet make you really think about what is being said. Very wise, these are…

    @Bobbi — Hope the tri went well!

    @Oktober Five — Five seconds, impressively fast! And you’re right, it’s what you do after you’ve read it that really counts…

    @Scale Junkie — I really liked the photo as well, and found it just to be very peaceful…

    @Julie — Very well said, it really is about us individually and how we look at life — whether it’s through wanting more power or more love. And that can make all the difference in getting us to a peaceful place.

    @Writer Dad — Yes, I was surprised too, and agree it is very, very cool! He was more than just a musician…

    @Sagan — It IS a struggle for many — because it’s hard to give up power. And yet, when we do, and accept love as the answer, good things come…

    @BC Doan — Thanks, glad you liked it!

    @Cath — Yes, that would be fabulous if Jimi’s words came true. The world would indeed know peace.

    @Evelyn — I’m glad you liked it!

    @Mark — Yes, that one was a surprise from who said it — who would’ve thunk it!

    @Maya — That’s a great group of musicians you listened to. I listened to some Pink Floyd today myself…

    @Jean — Thanks for sharing that quote, it is very similar to this one by Hendrix. Either one, when you really look at what is being said — they say so much.

    @Davina — Should I reveal my sources??? Really, it’s just a bunch of searching and digging for a particular topic that I choose. I believe it’s possible too…

    @Marelisa — Thanks for sharing that perspective — it makes so much sense. We want power, so that we can get love.…when we should really start by wanting love, and that will be powerful in itself at the end…

    @Laurie — Love is a choice, yes. And even more, to your second point, love can be shared — that is the beauty of love, in the sharing of it. And that’s an important point to remember.

    @Meleah — Glad to hear you liked it (and him)!

    @Stacey Shipman — Sometimes we are surprised by what people say…and don’t worry, your secret’s safe with me.

    @Stacey/Create A Balance — Your welcome!

    @Bamboo Forest — Yes, the person who said this (Mr. Jimi Hendrix) really adds to this quote.

    @Shamelle — Check it out, already there was another fine quote from Hendrix shared in the comments — from Monica.

  25. Hi Lance — Great quote. Now if all of the politicians of the world could figure that out we would have peace.

    Timely quote.

    @Annette — Yes, let’s all spread a little extra love this week…

    @Cricket — Yes, love, no matter how it is expressed — is felt by others just as it is — love…

    @Chris — Interesting thought to ponder…fleeting, yes, these thoughts can be…just like those who’ve said them.

    @Robin — Your welcome!

    @Kelly — Me too. I wouldn’t have guessed him saying this, but it is really very profound.

    @Rebecca — Amen…
