A soft and gentle pillow for me to rest on when I should

My mother, who gave me life and continues to be a guiding light.
My wife, the mother of my children, who daily goes above what I imagine is possible, in the lives of our children.

My mom passed away some years ago so Mother’s Day is a hard day. However, I do have my memories of my mom which I am grateful to have. The interesting thing is that even though she is no longer here with me, I know she is with me as I go about my life. So yay for the love that mother’s give!

As beautiful as this poem is, I have to say I was most touched by the beautiful dedication that you provided to the “mothers” in your life! From appreciation comes gratitude and vice versa in our lives.
So Happy Mother’s Day to Lora and may you all have a beautiful and love-filled day!
We just finished having a nice lunch with my mom actually
Dear Lance, this moved me to tears. So deeply expressed. What you wrote at the very end about your mother and then your wife just pushed my tears over the edge and down my face. Simply beautiful that you are aware of them both in this way and what they bring to your world, your soul and the souls of your children.
It also moved me as my mom is dying of Alzheimer’s and is at the stage where she doesn’t recognize anyone. But what is SO amazing is that she visits me in my dreams at night and talks to me. And the love is so complete and tender that I usually sob the next day. Good clean tears. I know that no matter what goes on in her body, her soul is with me. I still miss her so much and would give anything to sit and talk for even one hour. One single hour.
I still talk with her and I trust she hears me on the levels that matter. My father died many years ago, but he too is still with me and was with me all through the writing of my book. When you read it someday you will see why and how.
Thank you dear Lance for touching my life in a very precious and special way, a very REAL way. I always go away feeling more like ME. I am sending you, your dear Mom and beautiful wife much love on this mother’s day…and always. Robin

Mother’s Day can also be everyday. Commercialized societies encourage people to recognize mom’s once a year with some appropriate gesture.
