@Marelisa - Mare, that's a great point...that we sometimes carry our past scripts with us. And they can also hold us back from our full potential. Each day CAN be a fresh start!

@Cynthia - Hi Cynthia. Thanks so much for stopping in here today! Journaling...something I should do more of... So, hearing this from you is so good for me. And I also think it's great that you're helping out abused children...what a gift to share...

I used to hate to journal-the idea of writing what is already in my head just didn't make sense until a fellow Guardian Ad Litem volunteer suggested it would help relieve the stress of helping abused children. And it worked! So now I write every day and I have to say, I feel less tense about a lot of things in my life.

Thanks for sharing your ideas.

Hi Lance: So many people carry their past scripts into their present daily lives. Like the quote says, we need to realize that every day is a fresh new beginning, and we can write anything we want in its pages.

@Erin - Would you believe me if I told you a little bird delivered these every week?? Okay, I didn't think so! Really, I just look for something that speaks to me, in the moment - that's such an important part of this for me. I love the thought you're sharing about us being the star of our own movie, and what would we want that movie to be. And to think of each day as a fresh start, as a chance to start anew...what a liberating thought! Thank you for being here, Erin, and for really adding to this conversation with your beautiful thoughts...

@Sagan - Write on, my friend! Write that wonderful story of yours...

@Jenny Mannion - Jenny, I know that you are writing a beautiful story, and one in which I so much enjoy following along with. You exude love and joy, and I can only think that every new page you "write" has these two as pillars. Jenny, thank you for being so "you"...

@Janice - I do believe very much that this is something you do, Janice. And I wish you well on your journey through today, as you weigh the true importance of this message in your life. Indeed, we each have to take this on ourselves, and it means different things to different people. Thanks for sharing this today.

@Patricia - What a wonderful thing you're doing writing in a gratitude journal, and then focusing on a new key word each day! To your problems you were having - I did some updates this morning to fix some minor problems on the back end, so maybe they were affecting you also? Anyway, it's great to have you here today!

@Diane C. - Early morning hours are my favorite time of the day, I find much peace in these hours. Yes, I see this as relating to choices also. And even if we're not the doer, we still have the power to choose what is done in our lives - and that's a big part of the life story we're writing...because truthfully we wouldn't get far in this life without others there with us along the way.

@Jen - I believe we can certainly tear pages out if we want to. Or if we want them to reflect back on some day, then keep them there just for that. And yes I agree, not every day is this easy stuff to do. But it is important stuff. If our life we're talking about. How do we want that story to be when we've reached our end here on earth? jen, these are such good thoughts, thanks for sharing!

@Carla - You've hit upon something so key to this all - that life can seem topsy turvy sometimes. And while some things are out of our control, there is still so much that is - so much even that we think isn't that really is - and this is so good to remember. What are we allowing in our lives? Carla, thank you for this thought...

@Natalia - In the daily routines of our life, it IS easy to forget that we do have a choice of what goes on that piece of paper. I know! And the more we can be aware of this, the more we'll start to actively write the story we want. And thank you re: the triathlon!! This was the first of the year. I have another in two weeks. Fun stuff!

@Tess - Tess, this is super-awesome! A 1/2 marathon, that's so cool! You are writing a wonderful story, and this is only one part of it. And your story is so amazing (I've read your book - so I know you have literally written that story!). Keep on writing it Tess, you are doing such great things! (and thank you, so much - you ARE so kind...but I knew that already!!)

@Karl - And that's a great point. Our book isn't just one book, or one page, or one character. It's about all aspects of our life, and the people we have along on this ride through life with us. Keep at it Karl, you're doing great stuff!

@Nadia - Hi Nadia. Yes, we ARE the writers of our life. And then if that's the case, what do we truly want written in our "book of life"? And yes - by writing our story, that means getting out there and living our purpose and our dreams. Thanks so much Nadia!

@Stacey/Create A Balance - We sure can! We write all the stories of our life, and by neglecting one of them, it means that story is one that's maybe not what we really want. And I think that's a great reason for balance!

@Evita - We write our life story, whether we realize it or not. So by consciuosly making the choice in what goes into "our story", we develop the story in the amazing ways our life is designed to be led! And that is definitely an internal choice that makes all the difference. And when we get there, that's so awesome, isn't it!

@Srinivas - Visualization can really be a powerful technique to start seeing the life we want, so that we can also start writing that story. Great thought!

@Barbara - Hi Barbara. Oh, what an excellent point. How easy it can be for us to 'force' our thoughts and ideas on others - and when it's their story to write, not ours. Barbara, thanks so much for bringing this up - it's so easy to forget. Keep creating you beautiful story...

I love being reminded that I am the author, architect or builder of my life Sometimes I feel like everything is out of control or out of my hands and its good to have this reminder that its not the case - unless you want it to be. Thank you for that quote.

I have never heard this quote before, but I believe it's true. Somedays, it takes great courage to pick up the pen. I wonder if we're allowed to tear pages out that we don't like? I love the adventure of reinventing my life!

I always enjoy your Sunday Thoughts for the Day. Interesting quote. Even though I'm retired, I love waking up very early in the morning ready to start each new day. I like the idea of having choices, which I think the quote is referring to. But I'm also open to the possibility that I am not the doer.

Lance,
Very nice quote and I like the simple picture too - I just love to write and I end the day with my gratitude journal , right before I go to sleep I think of what my key word will be for my next day - or story and then awaken ready to go.

I am so pleased I am able to get on your blog today, I was getting an error message for so long, I think it was my twitter button?

Now today my email will not download! This is getting to be a story of frustration!
Good thoughts

Although this is how I usually approach my life, loving, living and learning like I'm creating a living, breathing work of art in progress, synchronicity has sent me this message twice since logging on this morning! Time to start figuring out why it's especially important to sit with that thought today. Thanks, Lance.

LOVE this one Lance! I am trying to write a new page each day. Each day holding love, joy, excitement and a belief in how I want that book to turn out. Brilliant as always! :-)

Where do you find these amazing, thought-provoking quotes? I so very much believe in the power of the story that we each have to tell. We are each the star of our own movie....do we want it to be a tragedy or a comedy? An action adventure or a romance? And why not all of it? I like the idea of starting with a fresh page every single day and writing my story. That is such a positive and uplifting thought. And it also makes me believe that we have the power to control much of how we react. That attitude makes all the difference. Thanks for the inspiration, Lance! Enjoy the day! Erin
