@Keith - Hi Keith. Rain. A wonderful example of one of life's miracles. Do we always think of it that way, though? Or do we sometimes see it as a nuisance, as we're trying to do something where we don't want rain? What a wonderful example of something that is such a miracle, and something we desparately need, yet at times we see it as completely the opposite. Thanks so much for sharing that! Rain is indeed a miracle!

@Jodi - Hi Jodi. And I love having you here, to read your perspectives. I love reading the word "richer" here, as it applies to a much more deeply meaningful life - so, so good.

@Laurie - Hi Laurie. What you're describing is completely amazing! And to think about being born as who we are, wow! What are the chances? And I have a hard time fathoming would I "be" if everything about my life had not happened when it did? So incredible! And that IS God, working in His awesome ways!

@Joy - Miracles can be so many things, can't they. Being able to walk. Living pain free. Turning your head. What you're doing, Joy, is really such an experience - wow! There has to be something very freeing and very connecting about being in the vastness of our world - in ways very few experience. And I think that gives you a very unique look at the miracles all around us!

@Erin - Erin, I love this thought you're sharing! I believe this very much, and yet I also have a hard time really and honestly doing that. Taking those moments to slow down and "be". So, your words are beautiful, soul-touching words that remind me to "be"... Erin, thank you for this, and for always being you...

@J.D. Meier - Thanks much, J.D. And yes, we are all part of a world filled with miracles!

@Diane - Our children...yes, miracles indeed! And the way young children see the world is as if everything is a miracle (they sure do get it right!).

@Lisa's Chaos - That's awesome, Lisa - the miracles you witness daily!

@Bern - Ah, that is so powerful Bern. Seeing that around us as looking in a mirror, and seeing Love - wow! This does feel magical and filled with awe! Thank you for this beautiful description!

@The Exception - It's great to have you here!

@Nathalie - There is something very centering about this. I think it takes us to our core, to our soul - and touches upon the amazing beings that we are - one of those amazing things being our thoughts and feelings. That which makes us, as humans, able to feel love and emotion - so wonderful!

@Sami - Hey Sami! So...you're hearing a theme! I'm glad I could provide a "sign" for you. The truth, though, is that you are very much already so seeing the miracles in this world. Sami, I recognize this in your writing so much. You have an amazing ability to see the beauty...

@Evita - That's it, Evita. Do we really "see" all these amazing miracles around us? Or do we just take them for granted? It's so easy to live our daily lives, doing what we always do - and not realize the beauty all around us - always. Because it becomes so common. Yet, it is still so, so miraculous. From the dirt of our earth, to the whales in our oceans - big and small - all miracles, all sizes, all awesome!

@Wilma - "Seeing from the heart"...Wilma - I completely love that thought! When we see with our heart, we do see the beauty in all these miracles around us. And I have to agree, Wilma, the comments section becomes so powerful for me, in really seeing these quotes come to life - in real and meaningful ways!

@Linda - Hi Linda. The walk on the beach just felt right to really soak up the essence of this quote - miracles - and the meeting of land and sea. Linda, I've only witnessed you fully appreciating all in this world. And it's been a gift for me to see this, to see you - living these words. And what a wonderful part of the "Miracles of Daily Life" prayer you shared - simply opening our eyes and being alive - wow! And Linda, I wish you only the same - may this coming year be filled with abundant love in your life!

@Karl - Having the mindset of seeing the world around us as a miracle, that's a great place to be, Karl. And we all have our moments, our times when it's hard to see the miracle in some thing. The more we focus on this, though, the more we really do develop that mindset of just how amazing our world and everything in it is... And you're there, my friend.

@Audra - Yes, God has truly created this amazing place we call earth, and everything in it. And that is all so amazing - from the smallest to the largest. Wow, it's great to be here on this earth, now, and to have you here on this journey, Audra. I appreciate your support very much...

@Caity - Caity, that is so true. In the everyday-ness of our lives, it becomes easy to take for granted so many things. And we forget how miraculous it can be to have them in our lives. And that's a wonderful reminder for all of us...

@Nadia - Hi Nadia. And that's such a true statement. I don't think anything about it as I get up to walk. Yet to someone who can no longer do that - walking is a miracle. And it is, for all of us. I also think of babies, and the wonder you see in their expressions as they begin to take those first steps. And how excited parents are for this moment - because it is viewed as a miracle. And then it becomes standard fair, and no longer viewed as the miracle it really is. And your last line is amazingly beautiful, Nadia - miracles are not rare indeed!

@Davina - Yes, there is so much to appreciate in our world! Are we, though? I know I sometimes take way too many things for granted, and reading this quote and all the comments helps me to re-focus on the many miracles that do exist...

@Lori - Hi Lori. And what a wonderful place that has to be, the beach near your home. Looking out on the waters, especially when all you see out beyond is the horizon - that is such an awe-filled moment for me. And the waves...amazing waves coming in from somewhere beyond... Lori, I sit here today, and feel a deeper connection to the ocean and it's amazing beauty, and that's thanks to you and this comment. Thank you, my friend, for being here and along on this walk with me...

@Carla - Water. Beaches. Sand. When we let these really soak into our being, their true beauty is revealed. And it is in the miracle of their being, if we can see that, that their true is fully seen by us. Not just through our eyes, but through our hearts.

@Suzen - Hi Suzen. Awww, and it's great having you here. You're a ray of sunshine! The miracles around our daily lives definitely deserve our attention...and sometimes that doesn't always happen. And that's when it's good for us to stop, and to really take in all that we're surrounded by. Miracles everywhere!

@Jeanne - Thank you Jeanne!

@Laura - Hi Laura! Sacredness. What a beautiful word to use in conjunction with this quote on the miracles we're surrounded by. It's easy to see something big and grand as a miracle. Yet, there are so, so many little daily things that are miracles in our lives. Like having you and everyone else here, and sharing so openly about what this means to them. There's a sacredness in these words. Laura, thank you for the book recommendation. It sounds wonderful! And thank you for your very kind and gracious words today...

@Miguel - Miguel, I take that very much as a wonderful compliment from you - thank you! Yes, sharing this connection with you - even though we're physically separated by thousands of miles and an ocean and parts of countries - is pretty amazing and wonderful!

@Patricia - Spiritual Journey of a Lightworker -- I love that thought, Patricia. This idea of expecting miracles will bring miracles. I believe this very much too. Thanks so much for being here and sharing such wonderful thoughts...

@Yum Yucky - And Josie, I think it's time. Find a blanket, a nice quiet spot, and do some gazing into the sky...without other distractions. I think doing this brings this feeling of awe, at how truly amazing our world is!

@Liara - Liara, thank you. Creating our own miracles, so awesome. And so much possible when we're really connecting with who we deeply are.

@Diane AZ - Thank you Diane! The ordinary, witnessed day after day, start to become just that - ordinary. And yet, they're not. It's all so extraordinary...all of life and what has been created!

@Positively Present - Thanks much Dani.

@Stephen - Thich Nhat Hanh is loaded with so much great and wise thoughts. This is one I especially feel drawn to. Enjoy all you find by him...

@Katie West - Ha! It's great for me to be here and enjoy the great conversation that get created. And that's everyone who takes the time out of their busy schedules to slow down for a couple of minutes and let these thoughts from great minds like Thich Nhat Hanh soak in. And I love that, Katie - thinking of us as islands drawn together in the great sea of life! I'm having coffee with you today, my friend...you are so filled with goodness...

@Lynn - This really is a great thought to begin our days! Just thinking of all the miracles we're surrounded by makes tackling whatever our day brings a little easier.

@Yira - Hi Terie. Life is filled with miracles. You're a miracle. Our earth is a miracle. The food in the cabinets is a miracle. Our lives are surrounded by miracles...if we'll just open our hearts to see them...

@Tess - This monk's a pretty wise guy, isn't he! And Tess, that's a great thing to celebrate - all that life is - because it is all so miracle-filled!

Miracles are all around us. I'm reminded of it every time I look into the face of one of my children. They see the miracles much more readily than I do.

@Natasha - Thanks for stopping by, Natasha!

@Stacey Shipman - It seems so opposite, doesn't it? Moving so fast, how could we be asleep? That's it, though. The faster we go through life, the more our senses become dulled to all the amazing beauty around us. It's when we slow down and really experience life, that we become deeply awake.

@Jannie - Beauty everywhere! The leaves. The grass. A child playing. Waking up. Wiggling our noses. The list of miracles is endless!

@CG Walters - You're welcome!

@Lisis - Lisis, I find this story to be deeply moving. It is like that particular day, you were supposed to get up and walk in that rain. I'm sure that particular day was extraordinarily difficult. And having that moment in the rain, your walk, was so good for your soul. And for really letting that feeling of life, a feeling that sometimes gets numbed by daily living, soak into your being. Lisis, thank you for sharing this very personal story here.

@Cath - Thanks for being here, Cath. This message is such an important one, because life and being here on this earth, as who we are - is such an amazing miracle.

@Tom Volkar - And yet, going about daily living - it can be easy to forget this one. To forget how really miraculous life is. And that's when a reminder like these words from Thich Nhat Hanh can be so meaningful. Thanks much, Tom!

@Stacey Shipman — It seems so opposite, doesn’t it? Moving so fast, how could we be asleep? That’s it, though. The faster we go through life, the more our senses become dulled to all the amazing beauty around us. It’s when we slow down and really experience life, that we become deeply awake.

@Jannie — Beauty everywhere! The leaves. The grass. A child playing. Waking up. Wiggling our noses. The list of miracles is endless!

@CG Walters — You’re welcome!

Funny how a such a small thing that we take for granted is really the biggest thing. We are always rush rush rushing from one thing to the next that we forget to slow down and take a breath and just be. That is really the miracle of it all. Maybe if we all took a moment to really slow down and see all that is within us, around us and living through us, our whole outlook would change. Life is indeed a miracle. Thank you for the inspiration today!
Enjoy the day!

Some days it's a miracle to walk at all:)

Living on the boat, I often say the sky is my ceiling, the mast is my cross, the ocean my backyard--you'd have to have a hardened heart not to appreciate that beautiful setting. I wake to wonder, I fall to sleep to wonder--regardless of what life brings in between.....miraculous. Wish it was always so effortless.

Have you ever read about all the things that have to be in place for there to be life on this planet? It is incredible ....the odds of there not being life on any planet and yet, we have life. And to get to be a person on this planet instead of a toad, or cactus, or rock, well....that is another miracle. With every step we take, our Creator watches, and walks with us. The fact that he wants to know me... know you Lance....know all of us...is HUGE. Knowing what He did to be with us...that is the biggest miracle of all.

Hi Lance!
Oh, this is a good quote! The ordinary is extraordinary and the less we take for granted, the richer our life experience will be! I love your Sunday posts. Thank you for this. I'll be looking around with a fresh eye this week because of you!
