You know, when I started doing this on a full-time basis four or five months ago, just like the quote said, I was overwhelmed at what came back. I truly believe that every action we take from the heart yields tenfold itself in return. The best part is, when I’m operating solely from love, it doesn’t matter if anything comes back or not — I’m satisfied simply with what I’ve done.
There is no greater energy in this life than love.
Speaking of that, I love the new header, Lance, and your tagline. Having just come from the mountains, I can really relate to everything I saw here today! Happy Sunday!

I started my blog because I wanted to discover what was in my heart. I had to break down the daily struggles and joys to figure out what I could do to improve my life. That’s great advice from Morrie. I believe Mitch Albom, author of Tuesdays with Morrie just came out with another book of wisdom.
To paraphrase the quote the next time I feel, unhappy, envious or greedy I need only to open my heart. It’s a simple solution to feelings of “not enough.”
Coming from a family of 10 children one of my core beliefs is “there’s not enough for me.” We use to eat dinner together and if you could see 20 hands grabbing for food at the same time you’d see why. I’m not counting the hands of my parents because they were always trying to pass things and teach us manners. Didn’t work. The private prayer of us kids was “Father, Son and Holy Ghost who eats the fastest gets the most.” LOL
Anyway I love the quote, thanks for brightening my morning and reminding me there is enough for all especially the ones with their hearts open and their hands extended!
That’s a much needed quote. I noticed that I feel less regret when I say and do things that come from the heart rather than just saying or doing things to impress others—maybe because when I say and do things that come from the heart, they are usually much more meaningful.

I’ve embarked on a mission this year to do as much for others as I can muster and the results have been astounding. And I’m talking about fairly little things that I’ve changed, like hand-crafted birthday cards, an extra note or personalized photo mailed, extra time to listen to others (where, normally I’d be “too busy”), or helping others move forward in their personal endeavors. Once I stopped worrying about what I’d “get” from what I was doing and simply do things for others to lend a hand (or a heart), the beauty in my life multiplied exponentially.
Your post today said volumes. I LOVE how you do that!

This is a wonderful quote and I really like the picture you chose to go with it as well. Just yesterday I had some time to myself. I’m trying to ready myself for a small trip I’m taking so I spent the majority of my free time running errands. I started to feel depleted–and realized I was doing busy work and nothing that actually truly mattered for my trip preparations. I looked at my list again and asked myself what would truly satisfy me-what would fill my heart and the hearts of others I care for–and ended up having a much better day. I did a little “artist’s date” for me, bought a gift for someone I care for, bought a book for my boys, read a book, ate an awesome early dinner and came home to watch a movie. These are minor examples of what your quote speaks to but the point is the same. Living from the heart puts everything in its proper perspective!

More often, though, it’s a look at what my heart is saying to me, at that moment, and then trying to find something that matches that. And that’s not always easy. It is, though, always worth it. Because I believe that when I can connect deeply with what I’m sharing, that’s the right place for me, and maybe this sounds weird, but I also think that other people somehow connect onto that…like there’s some sort of bond between your heart and mine, when these words are read by you. When you do kind things, you access the heart and you access your own love and abundant goodness. It is like going into the store room and finding all kinds of hidden goodies you did not know were there.
Oh if only when we were miserable we would remember this.
This morning things did not go well and until I got a hug, I was on the way to a not so fine day.
First I did not even respond to the hug, too annoyed, but when I did respond to the kindness I accessed my own heart too and the day was fine and the problem solvable.
