    There is something special about summer afternoons. In Panama we have two seasons (dry and rainy, it’s always hot) but I lived in the US for about nine years and I remember a lot of beautiful summer afternoons.

  2. Hi Lance,

    We live in the high desert and the summer afternoons (late in the day) are great as that’s when it begins to cool down and a soft breeze often blows.

  3. Hi Lance,

    We live in the high desert and the best time of the afternoon is when the sun is getting close to setting and a soft breeze begins to blow.

    Not bad… :)

    @Marelisa — Yes, here in the midwestern US, we’re having beautiful summer day — fun! I wonder what I would like more, dry or rainy?

    @Barbara — I also like nice cool evenings. The kind where you need a sweatshirt to stay warm. Coolness after a hot summer day is refreshing!

    @Mark — Not bad at all…

  6. Add the word weekend to the quote, and it becomes perfect! Sunday found the Urbane Lion and I sitting outside sipping white wine, viewing our newly constructed gardens, smelling the salmon smoking on a cedar plank, and listening to the Harleys roaring down the street. OH! Skip that last part; we have learned to tune them out. A perfect Summer afternoon.

  7. Lance, you sure sound like you had a great time. I, on the other hand, was nursing myself from flu while my kids went out for the day.

    Well, hope next weekend will be a better one for me! Your post made me remember that it is important to always set aside time for outdoor fun and play!

    Thanks,
    Evelyn

    @Urban Panther — Yes, weekend does make it perfect! Sounds like you had an excellent one yourself.

    @Evelyn — Flu, that’s a bummer. Get better quick…so you can enjoy some nice summer days!
