Hey my dear friend. I just stopped over to wish you a truly memorable and peaceful holiday season. I am taking from 17 until the 23 away from the computer completely. I need the break and to rest my eyes and brain.

I also want to thank you Lance for including me in your life. I treasure all our interactions and your beautiful wisdom and heart. You add so much to my life, more than you know. And what you add means the world to me, as do you.

Also, I loved this clip. With each passing year, I have REALLY learned what it means to live in the moment. It's where EVERYTHING happens. It's the ONLY place that ANYTHING happens. These days I live in a continual state of "high" simply from living in the moment. And I savor it ALL. Bless you my dear sweet friend. Know that you are loved and seen...and soooo appreciated. I wish lots of laughter with you kids and wife over Christmas. Robin

Hey Lance,
I don't know this movie, but I love Nick Nolte. :) The message of the movie is so true. What did he say, there is never not nothing going on...or something like that. So true. My best days, my happiest days are the days that I take time and enjoy how long it takes my son to get into his car seat! Those are the days that I'm truly living in the present and enjoying his little ritual, him noticing everything, without a care in the world. Good times! As usual Lance, I'm very grateful for your Sunday thoughts!!

Hope that you are doing well my friend!!!!

@Patricia - I'm sorry to hear you had trouble with the video. I just tried it again, and it appears to be working fine. And the idea of a well worn book tells me you have found much use for the material in "Peaceful Warrior". So good to hear. Getting that trash out of our mind really clears space up for the moments of our life.

@Wendi - Focusing on the moment...so good to keep in the forefronts of our minds during the rush that seems to accompany the holiday season. Focusing on the moment, and on really being present - can put the holidays in a whole new perspective...

@Angelia - I know! I'm not all that fond of taking out the trash normally. This "trash" is really good to get out, and I've found myself really focusing on this the last few days. And when I do, I really do become more "in the moment". And that really does feel good!

What a powerful and moving piece. Life can be such a constant motion, but to slow down, and really seek it. I guess it is a bit crazy isn't it? Taking out the trash has never felt so good. Thanks Lance!

Great clip. I have that book, read it a few times and have seen the movie and it always provides a great reminder to get back in the moment and focus.

Focus seems to be the theme of the day and such an important one as we run around getting ready for the holidays. THanks!!

I have read the book and watched the movie and used Dan's book to help folks understand Numerology and how they can make a team in marriage...I could not get the clip to run....but can probably find the part in my well worn book...

This produced a lot of comments about reading and being in the moment...and the trash..that must always be a great sign.

@Evelyn - It is really interesting, especially in that the message of emptying the trash from our mind is so well illustrated in this clip. Powerful! It's great to see you here, Evelyn! You too, have a great week!

@Sagan - Hi Sagan. We DO get so busy that we miss the "moments" of our life. This clip shows that so well. And that really drives the point home...

@Jeanne - Thank you, Jeanne, for being here. And a very Merry Christmas to you, too. I love the proverb you have shared, and will hold it with me as I go forth this week. Thank you.

@Talon - Hi Talon. And this movie clip just display the message of simply "being" in the moment so well. The slow motion look at everything going on around the scene did it for me - and has made me really think the last couple of days as to all that is going on right here and now, in front of me.

@Jason - I love that line too! Especially the reply of “It took a lifetime of practice". It takes practice to get to that point of really being in the moments of our life. There are so many distractions that can keep us from that, if we let them. And I love the other line from the movie you have shared, too - so true, are we really "living", or are we just existing?

@J.D. Meier - This scene alone is has so much in it. The idea of being in the moment, of emptying our mind of the clutter, of really experiencing all that is going on around us. And it is all shown so well - and easy to see the lessons in those moments of the film.

There's never nothing going on ...

It's one of my favorite movies. I ended up writing a bunch of lessons learned from peaceful warrior. For such a short, simple movie, I was surprised by how many take aways there are (if you take out the trash and notice the moment ;)

Love this movie. Love this quote in response to "You're out of your mind!"...

"It took a lifetime of practice."

Another of my favorite quotes also comes form that movie:

"Death isn't sad. What's sad is how few people really live."

Lynn said I should check out this post and I'm glad I did. Our minds are the masters of the art of distraction, but it's so worth the effort to simply be. Wonderful reminder, Lance!

Thanks for sharing
Merry Christmas

Fear less, hope more.

Eat less, chew more.

Whine less, breathe more.

Talk less, say more.

Love more, and all good things will be yours.

Great reminder to live in the present and SEE everything around us. There is so much that we fail to observe in life because we're "too busy" or distracted. Thanks, Lance.

@Elliot - You are, of course, correct - this is not the first time someone has talked about the true importance of the NOW. What is really great about this clip, is how well that point is illustrated. Wonderful! And then to hear so many great things about really this whole movie - here in the comments today - including your own - just reiterates how well this point of awareness and being present are illustrated in the "Peaceful Warrior". And thank much for the quote you shared - so fiiting!

@Jodi - Hi Jodi. I hear you on that thought of how this felt like I was being thrown into the waters of awakeness upon watching this scene. It's such a powerful scene to really drive home this idea of how we let so much "trash" into our minds and then lose focus of the moments in our life.

@Lisa - I haven't watched this movie either...and it looks so good.

@Jenn Z - Hi Jenn. Reading your words, know that it's so good to hear that this was there at a time when you needed to see it. I think that so much in our life happens for a reason, and this may just be part of that. Jenn, know that you are a light into the world, and I only encourage to keep doing that as I have beautifully witnessed...

@Davina - I know! This really is so, so well done. The "taking in" of the moments really was so eye opening. What is out there, right now, going on? In your world. In my world. Amazing most definitely...
