I just wrote this earlier this morning on my blog: »My beloved uncle worked until just one month ago at the age of 86. He managed a parking garage for an office building in downtown Macon, Georgia. He passed away last week after a brief illness and it was so lovely to see the comments from patrons of the parking garage on the online “guest book” at his obituary page. One example out of many, “John was so very nice. I met him when I started working downtown in Aug of ’08. He has been pleasant from day one. When he was not there, I looked for him to be. It is an honor to have known such a person who always gave you a smile as you entered and left his presence. I will never forget him and I know many others won’t either.”»

At least two people change when a person smiles — the one who received the smile and the one who smiled. That is how we change the world, one person at a time. Changing the world doesn’t mean big things have to happen, small things create a ripple effect which can go around the world, one person at a time.
There is an insurance commercial on TV that I love which starts with one person doing an a good act and helping someone. Another person saw the act happening and goes out to do a good act of his own which someone else saw. It goes full circle back to the first person who saw someone else do a good act and did one of her own. I just love the interconnectedness of it and Life.
